Bloomsburg Field Hockey Defeats Millersville, 8-0

BLOOMSBURG- Jamie Vanartsdalen (Huntingdon Valley/Lower Moreland) scored three goals and had two assists to lead the Bloomsburg University field hockey team to a 8-0 win over the Millersville Marauders on Saturday afternoon.

Scoring started early for the Huskies when sophomore Ashley Miller (Shermans Dale/ West Perry) scored a goal off an assist from Vanartsdalen 10 seconds into the game. The Huskies would go on to score three more goals in the opening 35 minutes of play.

In the second half Vanartsdalen scored two more goals, capping the scoring for the afternoon with a goal in the 68th minute.

The Bloomsburg defense was outstanding once again limiting the Mauraders to just three shots on goal.

The Huskies now 6-0 on the season will host Mercyhurst on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m.
